Firefox Setup Guide ​

This guide will help you configure DNS over HTTPS (DoH) in Firefox to use the UK DNS Privacy Project's secure public resolvers, enhancing your privacy and security while browsing.

Step 1: Open Firefox Preferences ​

  1. Open Firefox on your computer.
  2. Click the ☰ menu (hamburger icon) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click on Privacy & Security in the left-hand menu.
  5. Scroll down to the DNS over HTTPS section.

Step 2: Configure a Custom DoH Resolver ​

  1. Under Enable DNS over HTTPS using, select Max Protection.
  2. Click the dropdown menu next to Choose provider.
  3. Select Custom.
  4. Enter the UK DNS Privacy Project’s DoH resolver URL:
    https://resolver.dnsprivacy.org.uk/dns-query

Verifying Your Configuration ​

Visit the UK DNS Project homepage to verify that your system is using the configured DNS.
